Barry K. Wendt Memorial Scholarship
The Barry K. Wendt Memorial Scholarship is presented annually to a student who plans to pursue a career in the aggregates industry. This $5,000 scholarship was created to honor the memory of the late Barry K. Wendt, an NSSGA member who tirelessly devoted his energy to advancing the causes of the aggregates industry.
Eligible students will be enrolled in a mining-related degree program and will have completed at least one year of college coursework. Applications for the 2024 scholarship are closed.
Jennifer Curtis Byler Scholarship
NSSGA created the Jennifer Curtis Byler Scholarship Fund to memorialize the life and accomplishments of the daughter of Jack Curtis, L.C. Curtis and Son, a Georgia sand and gravel producer. Jennifer was a mother of four who was involved in the political process. She served on various boards and commissions, including the Republican National Committee, and was an effective fundraiser for Republican candidates.
This $5,000 scholarship, named in her memory, is reserved for a child of an aggregates industry employee who wishes to pursue collegiate studies in public policy, government affairs or related fields. The grant is funded by contributions from companies and individuals. Click here to apply.
