NSSGA Honors Rep. Langworthy (NY) with ROCK Star Award
WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced Rep. Nick Langworthy (NY) as the ROCK Star Award winner at the annual NSSGA Legislative & Policy Forum. He was honored with the award in recognition of his work championing aggregates policy issues. He notably led on key aggregates report language within the Farm Bill and is the Republican lead on the Aggregates Caucus.
“During his freshman year in Congress, Rep. Langworthy has established himself as a champion for the aggregates industry and spearheaded policies that are important to us,” said Michael Johnson, president and CEO of NSSGA. “Thank you to Rep. Langworthy, as well as his staff, for their leadership on these critical policies that will help our industry provide the essential materials needed for our infrastructure across the country.”
Rep. Langworthy authored the important “Rocks on Crops” report language that was included in the Farm Bill. This language recognizes the potential for aggregates materials and quarry by-products to enhance America’s agricultural productivity and sustainability. Rep. Langworthy also serves as the Republican lead for the Congressional Aggregates Caucus. This bipartisan group educates other members of Congress about the important work of the aggregates industry.
The ROCK Star Award is given annually to members of Congress who go above and beyond for the aggregates industry. For more news on the Legislative & Policy Forum, please visit www.nssga.org.
