NSSGA Honors Rep. Stanton with ROCK Star Award
WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) awarded Congressman Greg Stanton (AZ) with its ROCK Star Award during the last day of the annual Legislative & Policy Forum (LPF).
“Congressman Stanton and his outstanding staff have been tremendous allies of the construction material industry,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michael Johnson. “We are proud to present the Congressman with NSSGA’s annual ROCK Star Award in recognition of his work advancing policies which allow our industry to provide the materials necessary to meet the infrastructure needs of our nation.”
As a long-time member of the House Transportation Committee and a former mayor, Rep. Stanton knows the importance of infrastructure investment for the continued success of our local communities and economy. Rep. Stanton also played a key role in leading the successful passage of the ROCKS Act legislation, which was finally included in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act and signed into law in 2021.
“I was proud to work with the team at NSSGA, and with my colleagues across the aisle, to pass legislation making it easier for growing communities to access aggregates resources—the stone, sand and gravel products essential to all construction and public works projects. Now, with thousands of projects underway thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, I’m focused on getting it implemented as quick as possible,” said Congressman Greg Stanton. “The NSSGA has been an instrumental partner throughout this process, and I’m honored to be recognized for our work.”
The ROCK Star awards are given annually to Members of Congress that go above and beyond for the aggregates industry. For more news on the Legislative & Policy Forum please visit www.nssga.org.
