NSSGA’s Kicks Off Annual Convention with the Power of We
NASHVILLE, TN – More than 600 aggregates industry leaders have convened in Nashville for the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s (NSSGA) 2022 Annual Convention. The 2022 meeting themed the “Power of We” stresses the importance of a united industry after accomplishing the passage of the largest infrastructure investment of all times.
“This week is critical for NSSGA members. This opportunity for us to meet and share ideas makes the industry better for everyone,” said NSSGA Chair Darin Matson, Rogers Group Inc. “By working together, as a united association, we have been able to advance the issues that are at the core of each of our businesses, and those issues go beyond just infrastructure spending.”
The event, taking place March 27-30, includes committee meetings, breakouts and networking events. The first general session features an NSSGA Government Affairs team update, followed by a three-part discussion on Community Engagement, with takeaways to start implementing in local communities. The breakouts additionally will be open for all, focusing on Workforce Development, Permitting Reforms and a 2022 Political Outlook.
“It's been an exciting year for our industry, and I look forward to celebrating these victories with our members this week. It’s also a great time to discuss the challenges ahead for the industry,” said NSSGA President & CEO, Mike Johnson. “That is why it’s so important for our members to attend their committee meetings, as we conduct the business of the association and seek to address issues they face on a daily basis.”
Day two will lead off with the CEO Roundtable, featuring three industry CEOs. This session will be moderated by Mike Johnson, who will ask questions of NSSGA First Vice Chair Karen Hubacz (Bond Construction Corporation), Tom Hill (Vulcan Materials Co), and Ted Baker (Blue Water Industries).
As the Annual Convention winds down, the AGG1 Academy and Expo will ramp up March 29 -31. This event will provide access to exhibitors and 60 top-notch industry-focused programming in four educational tracks. This show is co-located with the World of Asphalt, which is owned by the National Asphalt Paving Association and Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
NSSGA members will next convene for annual association business in Washington D.C. during the Legislative & Policy Forum on September 20-23. For more information on the NSSGA meeting and events please visit www.nssga.org.
