NSSGA Announces Community Relations Excellence Award Winners
WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) today announced the recipients of the NSSGA Community Relations Excellence Awards. The Community Relations Excellence Awards recognize producers’ achievements through the involvement in their community to enhance the public’s perception of their business, their facility and our industry. This year, NSSGA recognized a total of eight Gold, eight Silver and 44 Bronze winners.
“All our members are valuable contributors to their communities,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michael Johnson. “From sponsorships, to volunteer time, to community events and school engagements, our members are known for their strong Community Relations programs. The awards help us to highlight those that stand out in a particular year, and I congratulate all of them!”
The 2022 Gold Community Relations Excellence Award winners, as listed below, were recognized during the advocacy prep session on the first day of NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum. The top-scoring Gold award winner, Danville Quarry of Caldwell Stone Co, LLC was awarded the Platinum award.
NSSGA also awarded a National Stars of Excellence Award, which is presented to an operation with multiple Gold Awards in Safety, Community Relations or Environmental Excellence within a five-year period. In the 2022 year, CEMEX’s Balcones Quarry won the Stars of Excellence for its 2022 Community Relations Excellence and 2019 Environmental Excellence Awards.
