NASHVILLE – The 2024 Barry K. Wendt Memorial Commitment Award was presented to Mark Helm of Dolese Bros. Co. during the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) Annual Board and Membership Meeting.
NASHVILLE – Jim Nickolas, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Martin Marietta, will be the next chair of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA). Outgoing Chair Seth Hankowski, All States Materials Group, handed off the gavel during a ceremony at the 2024 NSSGA Annual Convention. A video introducing Nickolas and showcasing the aggregates industry’s critical impact was also featured.
NASHVILLE – On the opening night of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) 2024 Annual Convention, the Manufacturing & Services (M&S) Division announced their 2024 Executive Committee Chair at their annual dinner. Outgoing Chair Charlie Johnson of DSC Dredge LLC handed off the gavel to Mark Krause of McLanahan Corporation. Tom Suess of Komatsu was named Vice Chair.
The 2023 Legislative & Policy Forum is being held Sept. 24-27 at the Capitol Hill Hyatt.
Fort Lauderdale, FL – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association met in Fort Lauderdale, FL to convene the Young Leaders Annual Meeting. The meeting, held from April 23-26, attracted a record attendance of more than 325 participants, who heard from industry leaders; participated in networking activities; and welcomed their new Committee leadership.
ALEXANDRIA, VA – National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) member Dwayne Boyd, president of the Midsouth Region, CRH Americas served as a witness during the “Reviewing the Implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act” hearing, which was held by the House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Highways and Transit Subcommittee. Boyd started out by thanking the Committee for their work in passing IIJA and emphasized the important advances that IIJA implementation provides for the aggregates industry.
LAS VEGAS – During the Annual Membership Meeting at the 2023 Annual Convention, the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) outgoing Chair Karen Hubacz, Bond Construction handed off the gavel to fellow Bay Stater, Seth Hankowski, All States Materials Group. This event occurs every three years and includes collaborative programming with the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) and the Portland Cement Association (PCA). The 2023 meeting theme of Building the Future Together, focuses on the unity among the industries and the shared policy issues.
