NSSGA Statement on Committee Passage of Supply Chain Legislation

Urge Swift Vote by the House

Alexandria, VA – Today, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) Vice President, Government & Regulatory Affairs Michele Stanley issued the following statement, praising the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee passage of supply chain legislation.

“Today is a positive step forward by the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee to move essential legislation to address the nation’s supply chain issues.  NSSGA would like to thank Chairman Graves, Ranking Member Larsen and all the members on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for their leadership in advancing legislative solutions to address supply chain bottlenecks and streamline permitting timelines. Specifically, NSSGA supported five proposals from Reps. Stanton, Crawford, Bost, and Carbajal that would bolster the development of truck parking, reduce regulatory burdens on transporting dry bulk goods, create more opportunities to grow the hauling and truck workforce and drive greater utilization of hydrogen trucks and equipment.

The committee also passed, with bipartisan support, a commonsense proposal to streamline federal permitting of large infrastructure projects This decisive action is especially encouraging, as NSSGA continues to call on congress to immediately address burdensome and duplicative permitting reviews that tie down development and put implementation of historic infrastructure investments at risk. With the committee work completed, we now call on the full House of Representatives to act.”
