Letter to House T&I Committee Supporting the Freight Rail Shipping Fair Market Act

On behalf of the members of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), I am writing to share our strong support of the Freight Rail Shipping Fair Market Act. I thank the committee for their leadership in drafting this legislation that will improve shipping conditions, allowing America’s aggregates producers to move essential building materials and industrial sand to the market. NSSGA is the leading voice and advocate for the aggregates industry. It is no secret that rail service conditions are failing for the aggregates industry.

Letter to Congress Opposing the Inclusion of "Book Tax" in H.R. 5376, the "Inflation Reduction Act"

We, the undersigned trade associations, representing hundreds of thousands of businesses across the nation that collectively employ millions of Americans, write to express our opposition to the inclusion of a tax on the financial statement income of certain businesses (“book tax”) in H.R. 5376, the “Inflation Reduction Act” reconciliation legislation. Economic analyses demonstrate the harmful impact of this provision. The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation found that nearly 50% of the burden of this tax would fall on manufacturers.

Letter to Congress Leadership Supporting S.J. Res. 55

On behalf of the 400 members of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) I am writing to share our strong support for S.J. Res. 55, introduced by Senator Dan Sullivan (AK) and H.J. Res. 91, introduced by Representative Garrett Graves (LA), which would repeal onerous regulations that will make it harder to modernize our infrastructure. The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) earlier this year issued a new regulation that complicates the permitting process for large infrastructure projects under the National Environmental Permitting Act (NEPA).

Coalition Letter Opposing Gas Tax Holiday

The Americans for Transportation Mobility (ATM) coalition and the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) opposes any and all efforts to undermine recent and historic infrastructure investments, including suspending federal and state motor fuel user fees, commonly known as “gas taxes.” American consumers are facing significant economic anxieties brought about by record inflation, continuing supply chain issues, high energy prices, labor shortages, and continued concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.

On behalf of the 400 members of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), I am writing to share our support for H.R. 8187 the Mining Schools Act of 2022 and urge the Committee on Natural Resources to advance this critical bill. NSSGA thanks Rep. Burgess Owens and Rep. Jim Costa for their leadership drafting this proposal that will help advance our nation’s mining schools.

Letter to Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee Supporting the Mining Schools Act of 2022

On behalf of the 400 members of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), I am writing to share our support for the Mining Schools Act of 2022 and thank you for your leadership in drafting this critical legislation. As you may know, our nation’s mining schools are critical to the work of the aggregates industry as they train the next generation of engineers and experts needed to build and operate the thousands of mines that supply over 2.56 billion tons of aggregates each year.
