MSHA Silica Rule Overview

This panel will review the new MSHA silica rule published on April 18. The new Part 60 in the rule goes into effect in two years. Presenters John Ulizio and Libby Pritchard will go over the new rule; the requirements the rule imposes on Metal/Non-Metal; and what mine operators can do to prepare. The panel will also talk about how NSSGA is providing compliance assistance to member companies, including future materials, webinars and workshops.

Medical Surveillance Programs Part 1

A medical surveillance program is a significant part of an occupational health program for workers exposed to silica dust, is required to be offered under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) silica standard and is expected to be included in the upcoming Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) rule on silica dust.
