NSSGA Members Advocate For Infrastructure and Aggregates Today on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) is hosting its Legislative & Policy Forum (LPF) in Washington D.C. Sept. 26-29 in a hybrid event format. NSSGA members are conducting over 100 meetings with members of Congress and their staffs today to advocate for the priorities of the aggregates industry: chief among those is a final push for infrastructure investment. This LPF and Hill Day timing coincide as the same week as the scheduled House vote on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). 

 

Environmental Excellence Award Winners Announced at 2021 LPF

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) today announced the recipients of the Environmental Excellence Awards, which recognizes operations that actively demonstrate a commitment to the exemplary use of environmental controls and systems. NSSGA awarded a total of nine Gold, 10 Silver and 63 Bronze Awards.    

 

2021 Environmental Leadership Award Presented to Lalit Bhatnagar, Lehigh Hanson

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) today announced the recipient of the 2021 Environmental Leadership Award as Lalit Bhatnager (LB), director, Environment, Land and Resource Development, South Region at Lehigh Hanson, Inc. The award was presented during the first morning of NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum in Washington, DC.   

 

NSSGA Announces Industry Safety Award Recipients

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) today announced the winners of the Safety Excellence Awards and the Louis Griesemer Sterling Safety Awards. The Safety Excellence Awards recognize operations that maintain a safe workplace, evidenced by its safety performance over a consecutive period without an MSHA-reportable injury.  The Louis Griesemer Sterling Safety Award recognize NSSGA member companies that have the lowest total accident incidence rate for the previous year in their size category. 

 

Kyle Ressler Receives 2021 Barry K. Wendt Memorial Scholarship

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Kyle Ressler, a rising senior at the University of Kentucky, has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Barry K. Wendt Memorial Scholarship. Awarded by a panel of NSSGA member judges, the scholarship is given annually to a student pursuing a mining-related degree and plans to make a career in the aggregates industry.

NSSGA Welcomes Bipartisan Infrastructure Legislation

ALEXANDRIA, VA- The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) President and CEO Michael Johnson issued the following statement regarding the advancement of the bipartisan infrastructure legislation in the Senate.
